What is PayPal?
Sending and receiving money online is safe and secure thanks to the PayPal online payment system.
When you connect your bank account, credit card, or debit card to your PayPal account, you can use PayPal to make online purchases from participating merchants. PayPal operates as a middleman between your bank and retailers while protecting the security of your payment information.
PayPal Business Account
In addition to allowing you to make payments, a PayPal business account also grants you access to eCommerce and POS interfaces, online invoicing, a virtual terminal, recurring billing, and other features. A PayPal business account may be created quickly and easily, and there are no ongoing costs.

Types of PayPal Business Accounts
For business owners, a PayPal business account offers two main alternatives for processing payments:
- Standard PayPal Payments. This free basic PayPal business account enables account holders to accept all of PayPal’s payment options without incurring a monthly maintenance fee (except for payments made via phone, fax, or virtual terminal). Additionally, it offers the features and advantages of a conventional PayPal business account, such as streamlined PCI compliance functionality and toll-free phone service. PayPal Payments Standard is a fantastic alternative for business owners who are just starting out as well as those who are happy with a basic checkout option on their website or through their e-commerce platform provider. Customers are sent to PayPal’s website to complete their transactions before being brought back to the company’s website.
- PayPal Payments Pro. PayPal Payments Pro, which is an upgrade from the standard version, offers all the benefits of the basic account in addition to the option to collect payments through phone, fax, or virtual terminal.
Because it gives business owners complete control over their checkout pages, this account is ideal for anyone looking to advance their e-commerce website. Customers never leave the company’s website after making a purchase.
In contrast to PayPal Payments Standard, this choice has a $30 maintenance cost each month.
